I’m too tired to post an accompanying picture. Yet I feel the need to share. Over the course of the month, my child has become increasingly active. I began with a normal child… some what. He sat and played quietly with his toys, watched TV, and played video games. Then he started doing strange things… like watching TV while standing, instead of planting his little behind in a chair. That progressed to jumping while playing video games. His toys began to soar across the rooms–sometimes with him holding them, sometimes thrown.

The avoidance of naps came next. Still, I managed to force him down most often than not. Only that led to staying up late with a child revved to go. He used that extra energy obtained from naps to help keep him going as he ran around the house. Literally, he did circuit around the fireplace wall which separates the living room from the dining room. Around and around the boy goes, when he’ll stop, nobody knows.

He jumps from the furniture, not just from the cushion, but the arm and back rest, scaring the crap out of me at times as he comes within inches of knocking himself into next week. He holds blankets and towels to his neck and screams, “I’m Superman!” as he dashes from one end of the room to the other. From the time he wakes up until the time lays down, it’s non-stop go.

I need a Valium and my kid needs Ritalin. Calgon, take me away.
