Nathan Bransford wrote a blog today asking about the places people go for inspiration. This also came up in my writing group a few weeks ago. For me, it’s the shower. I don’t know what it is about the shower, but I learned early it was a place for me to conquer any problem areas in my plots. Writing is constantly on my mind–I live it. But sometimes I write myself into a corner and need to step away and reflect. That’s when I head to the shower for a break. Ideas just seem to flow while I’m in there. Usually I come out with a fix to my problem, and if nothing else, some new scene or book ideas.
Before I started writing, I used to just sing in the shower. Now it’s my think tank.
