So, I’m suppose to hire an professional designer for my published works. As of now, I only have a short story. Yeah, Control Freak to the left. I know this is bad, but I just can’t see myself hiring a professional editor at this time. It’s not that Control Freak is a bad piece. I love Control Freak. Then again, I’m the author of it, so I have a little bias thing going on here.
Here’s the thing. I never intended to really make money off it. I just wanted to test the waters a bit. See how folks responded to my writing. I’ve been hanging out at Susan Bischoff’s blog the last couple of days. And I’ve heard about the importance of cover art in the past, and she reiterated it again.
Okay, the first cover art I designed for Control Freak was quite crappy. Even my husband thought so, and he’s not one to give negative feedback about my work. And shame on me, I used it anyway. Yes, I know I should hire a professional, but I decided to give cover art designing one more try.
It’s a simple design but hopefully more appealing. What do you think? Should I toss in the towel with this cover art stuff?
Bonus for stopping by!!!
I’m looking for folks to review my short story. If you’re interested in exchanging a review for a free download of Control Freak, email me at (reenajacobs at reenajacobs dot com) or comment here with your email address. I’ll send you a coupon for 100% off.
Control Freak is on Goodreads! 🙂 If you hurry, you can probably catch my first attempt at cover art for this book.
Control Freak is available at Amazon and Smashwords.
