Stop by May 24 for an Author Interview

Stop by May 30 for a Teaser

Today, I’m hanging at Adopt an Indie. Stop by and we’ll talk about writing and hobbies.

Okay… I’ve been fairly busy this week… not too busy, but busy enough. :) I’ll be honest, I haven’t been sticking too much with the goals I set earlier though. Still, let’s see what I have done.

I Loved You First

  • Received the copy back with editing notes from Dave Parker (president of my local PLAG chapter in NC).
  • Implemented the editing changes
  • 77% done with reading through to make sure no new errors have been introduced after changes
  • Plan to have ARC ready Saturday, July 23, 2011
  • Offered ARCs to blog followers and Goodreads friends (if we’re not connected through GFC –check out sidebar– or Goodreads, consider hooking up with me so you stay in the know). If you didn’t receive an invitation and are interested in an ARC, friend me on Goodreads. I’ll probably send out invitations to new Goodreads friends on Saturday, July 23, 2011
  • Need to send out review requests to Review Blogs – Will send the first batch Saturday, July 23, 2011
  • Need to do one final read through before publication. This is in addition to the current read-through. Expected release date August 1, 2011

Kickstarter

  • Last day to pledge Saturday, July 23, 2011 – Don’t miss out if this was on your list. –character naming, signed copies, S.W.A.G., book acknowledgements, and more– Plus you get to support an author!
  • 31% toward the funding goal

Blog

  • Restructured the categories
  • Added buy links to my work (way overdue for that)

Reading Challenge

  • Behind 2 books
  • Plan to read 2 books a week to catch up (with the work for I Loved You First coming to an end, I think I can do this)
2011 Reading Challenge
Reena has read 18 books toward her goal of 60 books.

So what’s up for grabs this week? Two digital copies each of the following books:

So I was sitting here, hoping dinner would cook faster when I realized, Oh crap! It’s Thursday. Time for another #ROW80 update. Here we are. :) Let’s see how I’ve done.

  • March: Edit Alley Cat
    • I honestly didn’t make as much progress here as I’d have liked. HOWEVER, I did get scene 2 outlined in a way that allowed me to strip the back story which was annoying me. Now I just need to actually edit it so I can move on to the next chapter.
  • Bonus Goal: Maintaining 100+ words a day over at Word Count Union.
    • Continue working on New Adult novel ~ I Loved You First. At last count I was at 31,122 words. Now, I’m at 32,759. I skipped writing this weekend but was back on track on Monday. I finally hit the last chapter. I’m the process of wrapping up one major piece. Afterward, I have one minor and one major plot area to tie up, and I’ll be finished. I thought I’d be done last week with this but find myself not trying to break any records with words per day. :) 100 words, baby. It’ll get done when it’s done. One thing I can say, the first draft is probably the cleanest I’ve ever written. So that’s a plus. :) Hopefully editing won’t drag me down like Alley Cat is doing. If you haven’t checked out the rough draft of my cover art, have at it. :)
    • Begin new 100-word-a-day novel. Trinity’s Awakening ~ New Adult Suburban Fantasy. Haven’t started this yet but will after I finish I Loved You First.

FYI: If you’re looking to get Shadow Cat for CHEAP, it’s still available at Amazon and B&N for $0.99. Don’t miss out, because I’ll be putting it back at regular price on Sunday.

Second update in March. I’ll just keep this short and sweet.

  • March: Edit Alley Cat
    • Okay. Here’s the deal with this. I haven’t. I’ve been stuck on scene 2 since last week. Yeah. I suck. And to top it off, I’ve been playing WoW when I should have been editing. Good news though. I’ve finally faced reality. I knew why I was having trouble with it–I need to make cuts. I did it and am back on track… I hope.
  • Bonus Goal: Maintaining 100+ words a day over at Word Count Union.
    • Continue working on New Adult novel ~ I Loved You First. At last count I was at 30,130 words. Now, I’m at 31,122. I did miss one day of writing (yesterday), which I only put in 19 words. I’m actually having some problems with the ending. It’s not working out the way I want it. What I might do is just leave it and come back to it during the next round of edits. We’ll see what happens tonight.
    • Begin new 100-word-a-day novel. Trinity’s Awakening ~ New Adult Suburban Fantasy. I might start this tonight and lay off I Loved You First.

<Sigh> I totally need to just get motivated. I’m overstressed because I’ve been procrastinating and stuff has piled up.
