The day has arrived! Today, we present the first blog hop of two happening this month at Rambling of an Amateur Writer. So you want deets, right? Very well. :)

This November Giveaway Hop (Nov. 8th to 11th) is Co-hosted by I am a Reader, Not a Writer and Tristi Pinkston.

What is a giveaway hop?
Simple – Each participating blog hosts a giveaway and then we link up together allowing our followers & blog readers to hop easily from one giveaway to another.
For blog readers this means lots of chances to win.
For blogs hosting a giveaway it means lots of new visitors.
It’s a win-win!

So there you have it, folks!

I suppose you want to know what’s up for grabs? I know if I came here looking for prizes, I certainly would. So let’s see.

I have a couple of authors who’ve graciously sponsored prizes for this giveaway.

First up, Heidi Ruby Miller.

Heidi Ruby Miller writes Science Fiction Romance because the relationship is as important as the adventure. She loves high-heeled shoes, action movies, Chanel, intense music, and video games. Heidi also teaches creative writing at Seton Hill University, where she graduated from their renowned Writing Popular Fiction Graduate Program the same month she appeared on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. The writing guide Many Genres, One Craft, which she co-edited with Michael A. Arnzen, is based on the Seton Hill program and her novel Ambasadora was her thesis there.

She has had various fiction and non-fiction publications, as well as various jobs, including contract archaeologist, foreign currency exchanger at Walt Disney World, foreign language teacher, and educational marketing director for a Frank Lloyd Wright house.

Heidi is a member of The Authors Guild, Pennwriters, Broad Universe, EPIC, SFR Brigade, and Science Fiction Poetry Association (SFPA).

You can read her author interview series at http://heidirubymiller.blogspot.com.

She lives near Pittsburgh with her writer husband, Jason Jack Miller.

AMBASADORA by Heidi Ruby millerMs. Miller is offering two (2) eCopies of her latest release AMBASADORA. (International giveaway awarded via Smashword Coupon)

If everyone told you love wasn’t real, would you still be willing to die for it?

Citizens of a six-moon system in our arm of the Milky Way don’t remember Earth, only the History of a generational worldship culture. In their multi-partner society a caste system rules tradition, but the governing body of the Embassy rules everything else. Obsessed with celebrity, beauty, and power, relationships and conceptions are based more on DNA than emotional ties…or should be.

What the citizenry can’t escape are the human feelings of love and jealousy that turn the sterile to honorable suicide, force a couple to make the ultimate sacrifice, and allow rebels to spin their world into a violent revolution.

Ambasadora Sara Mendoza becomes the unwilling face of this revolution. Captured, tortured, and given a second chance at freedom, she proves that sacrifice for the man she loves is more honorable than sacrifice to a society’s antiquated mores.

AMBASADORA is available at Barnes & Nobles or Smashwords.

My next sponsor is Shellie Neumeier.:)

I’m still trying to figure out how to pronounce her last name. I bet it has some cool French meaning.

Married for over 20 years, Shellie and her husband have four wonderful kiddos and two goofy greyhounds. After receiving her undergraduate degree in Secondary Education from the University of Wisconsin—Madison, she went on to acquire an early childhood education certificate. Shellie also served in youth, children’s, special needs and family ministries for over twenty-two years.

Now she enjoys teaching her teens how to drive and chauffeuring her preteens across the Wisconsin countryside. And once in a while, she loves to read big people books (you know the kind without pictures).

Shellie writes because it keeps her away from her husband’s power tools and because every now and then, she doesn’t have the choice, it just takes over. Her best inspiration comes from God and the occasional walk along a country road with her greyhounds.

In addition to writing, Shellie speaks at youth groups, conferences, and women’s retreats. If you would like more information regarding her speaking engagements or to invite her to speak at yours, please contact our office at info(at)shellieneumeier(dot)com.

Driven by Shellie NeumeierMs. Neumeier is offering a paperback copy of her debut novel Driven. (US-only)

Robyn can’t help but notice the handsome new guy at her school. She ignores, however, the arrival of another being at Brookfield Central High School—a demon assigned to destroy her…

Robyn loves her friends, enjoys her youth group, and looks forward to meeting cute Caleb Montague. But when a caustic news reporter challenges her school’s prayer team, Robyn must choose: defend their right to meet on campus and pray for whomever they wish or back down at the principal’s request.

Now she must learn what God wants her to do. And she had better learn fast, because there’s a supernatural enemy in town whose sole mission is to stop her—no matter the cost.

Find Driven at Barnes & Nobles.

Hi! I’m Reena Jacobs.

For those of you visiting for the first time, I’m the author of a small collection of books, which you’ll find at the top of this blog under “My Works” and also the manager of this site. For the most part, I just like to ramble, which makes me perfect for blogging. So, kick back, look around, and good luck!

Amazon or Book Depository

I’m offering $15 worth of books from The Book Depository (International) or a $15 Amazon Gift Card (US-only).

Winner’s choice if you’re in the US, and by default your choice of books if you’re not. My understanding is us lowly folks in the US can only send Amazon Gift Cards to folks in the US. If I’m wrong, definitely leave a comment. It won’t change the prizes for this giveaway, but keep in mind, another blog hop occurs at the end of the month with a similar prize offer. I’d love to offer the gift card internationally.

  • International winner must be on The Book Depository’s Shipping List.

By the way, I’m still taking sponsors for the blog hop at the end of the month (see details here).

That’s not all! All winners have the option to receive an eCopy of I Loved You First. (International giveaway award through Amazon Kindle Gift)

Here’s how this works. Whether you win a copy of AMBASADORA, Driven, free books from The Book Depository, or the Amazon Gift card, I’ll also throw in an eCopy of I Loved You First if you so desire.

Additionally, I’ll be sending an undisclosed number of eCopies via the Kindle Gift feature to follow-up winners. My goal is to distribute at least 10 Kindle copies of I Loved You First.

Alexandria (Alex) Carmichael guards two secrets close to her heart. One–she’s in love with her best friend, Seth. Two–he’s gay.

As a freshman in college, Alex looks forward to fun times with her best friend. When Seth decides cycling through girlfriends is the way to fit in with the straight crowd, Alex must make a choice: watch Seth give his affection–though phony–to another while her heart breaks or come clean with her feelings and risk losing his friendship forever.

I LOVED YOU FIRST is a new adult love story told through the eyes of Alex, an African-American/Caucasian student, who takes a journey of self-discovery while watching her best friend come to terms with his sexuality.

I Loved You First is available in lots of places. You’ll find a list of links here.

  11. Thanks everyone for the wonderful comments. :)
@Jess ~ I actually had a couple of entries who chose “No, I just like filling out forms.” haha. Not sure if that was purposeful or not. Random.org didn’t pick their numbers, so it’s nice I didn’t have to debate about it. :)

@Kel ~ We’re pretty lucky these days there’s so many ways to defer shipping costs. :) Without eBooks and The Book Depository, I wouldn’t be able to. I’m glad they’re available. It’s so much more thrilling to say yes than no. haha

@Sarah ~ I can never hear too much praise. Thank you. :)

@Everyone ~ Don’t forget to check your spam folders. There were A LOT of winners — about 30 or so. The winning post also includes a list (http://wp.me/pPz8s-1V1). Stop by again… there’s going to be another blog hop at the end of the month.

  12. I just wanted to thank you a great deal more for your incredible website you might have developed here. It can be full of valuable guidelines for people who are truly interested in this specific subject, primarily this quite post. Your all so sweet in addition to thoughtful of others and reading the weblog posts is a superb delight in my opinion. And thats a generous present! Dan and I normally have enjoyment creating use of your recommendations in what we need to do within the near future. Our checklist can be a distance long and tips will undoubtedly be put to excellent use.
